Unemployed cross-border workers, what individual circumstances affect the receipt of the benefit?

  1. A worker who goes to work and live in France will receive the French benefit.
  2. A worker who goes to work in France and maintains his residence in Spain, in this case he would receive the Spanish benefit. This is requested with the U1 form which is presented at the Spanish office.
  3. A worker who, while receiving the French benefit, decides to register in Spain, from that moment onwards, the French benefit is stopped and the Spanish benefit is not paid either.
  4. A worker who, while receiving the French benefit, decides to register in Spain and works under the Spanish General Social Security Scheme, would be entitled to recover the French benefit and would have to present the U1 form.
